In a few moments with Charles he gave me a sense of ANYTHINGS POSSIBLE which I can tap into at will This has been a quantum change in personal happiness and my career Jillian Whitelam NLP Practitioner | Overcoming boredomIt seems a little odd, but many people will respond to stress with a sense of boredom. They become bored with everything they have to do and can become sluggish and unenthused. If you're the kind of person that seems to become bored when you're under pressure, you might want to consider these relaxation techniques, designed to help you get your vitality and your excitement back.- Look at things from a different angle - Often, boredom comes from looking at the same thing the same way every day. And it's no wonder that you become bored. To prevent this, try to look at each task you do from a different perspective each day. For example, try to look at your tasks from your boss' perspective or from the perspective of the client. This can help you to see things from a different view as well as help you do things a bit differently.
- Find a new way - There are hundreds of ways to do every task, so why not find out how you can do your tasks differently today? Try a new motion or a new program or perhaps simply do things at a different time of the day to keep things feeling fresh and new. Being innovative is the key to being excited about your job, even after years have gone by.
- Take on new responsibilities - When you're feeling bored at your job, it might be time to take on new responsibilities. While this sounds like more work, it's actually giving you a shift in your focus as well as a new task to learn. By stimulating your learning response, you will focus on the newness of your tasks and alleviate your boredom.
- Try to learn more - No matter what you do, you can always learn more about it. Try reading online resources or the employee handbook to see what kinds of things you don't already know about your job or your field. The more you can learn about your current work, the more you will be able to feel responsible for your tasks as well as the outcome.
- Get a new job - If your boredom is overwhelming, you might want to consider a change of careers. Try looking around for a new job to take the place of your current one or simply find another job that you can do in your off time. By simply changing your focus a little, you will be able to help make things new again.
