It took only an hour for an experience that lasts a lifetime   It  is a bit like being given my own reset button that returns me to a resourceful state   Many thanks

Loss of sense of humor

Life can't always be funny to us, but when you're stressed, there are far many more opportunities to laugh. However, for many people, laughing is the last thing you want to do. You want to scream, to yell, and to scowl. But as laughter is truly the best medicine for stress and tension, maybe it's time to bring that humor back into your life. Maybe it's how to prevent stress in your life as well. Here are some ways to start managing stress by bring laughter back.
  • Watch funny movies - You need to introduce laughter back into your life by reading or watching things that are humorous to you. This might mean that you watch a funny move every night after work or tell jokes with your friends at work. Whatever makes you laugh, you need to start to add that back into your life.

  • Exaggerate everything - When we're under stress, it's hard to see just how skewed our thinking can be. We're often picturing the worst case scenario when there's really no need to do so. But if we take that tendency to over-dramatize our stress, we might be able to find the humor in it. Ask yourself what's the worst possible thing that could happen. If you're fearful of losing your job, maybe you can picture getting fired, losing your car, your home, and having to take a job at a fast food restaurant where you have to wear the chicken costume and wave to customers. That's a funny picture that you can keep in your head whenever things begin to be too overwhelming.

  • Be with others that use humor in their lives - If you're surrounding yourself with somber people, it's not wonder you aren't laughing all the time. Try to find the life of the party group and spend most of your time with them. This will help you to find the happiness in your day to day living without having to actually tell the jokes yourself.

At the end of each day, try to look back on what happened to you and find the humor in it. Think about how in six months, you will laugh about the things that are scaring you and about how silly you mist have looked for worrying in the first place. You just don't have to face stress with a straight face. At least, you shouldn't!
