Anonymous | Excessive concern with timeWhen your head becomes filled with the stresses of everyday life, you want to be in control of as many other things as you possibly can. For some, this means they want to control their eating, for others, they might bite their nails. For you, you're the person that becomes concerned about time - either arriving very early or always being late. Both situations can leave you feeling rushed and more stressed than you'd like, so there are some ways to manage your obsession with time and learn how to relax.- Wear a watch - When you're feeling like time is not on your side, you might want to start watching over it more closely. Wear a watch or carry your mobile phone with you to be aware of the time. This will help you know when you're on time and when you're leaving for an appointment too early. It will also help you start to manage your time more efficiently if you're someone that's normally late.
- Set all your clocks ahead by fifteen minutes - If you find yourself worried that you won't be on time, only to arrive too early or to arrive late, setting your clocks ahead by fifteen minutes can help you always be on time without having to change the way you're living your life. When you're a person that relies on your watch or clocks to manage your time, they will always be working in your favor.
- Find out how you are spending you time - Take three days to write down everything you've done during your day. This will help you get a grasp of where you might be wasting your time. When you're done figuring out how you're spending your time now, take another day to write out a schedule that will work better for you and what you want to accomplish.
- Give yourself some leeway - Related to the idea of setting your clocks ahead, in creating your new schedule, you will want to give yourself some 'free' time that will allow you to fall behind without missing appointments or having troubles keeping up with the things you need to do. Create 15 minutes in between everything you want to do.
If you're preoccupied with time or simply just having troubles managing it, you need to start observing your actions in relation to time first. Once you know where you can improve, you will start to have a healthier relationship with your clocks.
