Autosuggestion


If you're under a lot of stress in your life, and you don't believe that the relaxation methods you are choosing will work and then they don't, you're working with the idea of autosuggestion - though not in a positive way. In order to help your body during stressful times, you want to think of autosuggestion as a way to alleviate your physical symptoms and  other problems.

What you need to do is use autosuggestion to help train your mind to think differently about situations in your life. This is commonly seen in the use of affirmations and positive self talk. When you have a thought that you do not want in your life, you simply use relaxation training techniques that involve contradicting the thought in your mind. By doing this to your negative thoughts over and over, eventually you will train your mind to choose positive thoughts.

Repetition is the key to making autosuggestion work for you. You will need to repeat this relaxation training each and every time you enter a stressful state of mind in order to change the way you react. As soon as you begin to feel any sort of stress in your life, you need to contradict it with a phrase that makes you feel relaxed or an image that makes you feel relaxed.

You can do this by surrounding your office desk with things that are soothing. Or you can use relaxation techniques that involve stopping your thoughts and diverting your mind to things that are more positive. On a cellular level, what you are doing is reprogramming your brain to take different pathways when you are feeling stressed. Instead of going straight to feeling frustrated, you will teach your mind to be happy about what is happening around you, or at least to not react in a way that is going to cause you more stress.

While there are autosuggestion practitioners that can work with you to manage your thinking patterns, you can also being to make these kinds of changes in your life on your own. You can try relaxation methods like affirmation cards that you read each time you feel too much pressure. Keep this card with you no matter where you go and then read it multiple times each day. In time, you won't need the card anymore, as you will have reprogrammed your brain to think soothing and positive thoughts.
